Tim Horton

I am starting this blog as a form of social protest and perhaps on-going petition to be presented to Tim Hortons

I would like to get the attention of Tim Hortons and convince them that their paper products need to be recycled and they must take more responsibility in stopping their clientelle from littering. The bilingual mouse type that reads ' PLEASE DO NOT LITTER/RESPECTEZ L'ENVIRRONEMENT' along the bottom of the festive Christmas cup, for instance, does show an awareness and effort to educate the public. But words are not enough. We need to see recycled paper and bags or bins given to customers to ensure that the ditches, roadsides, and pathways are not festooned with Tim cups. Like dog turds, they mess up the spaces we share.
Tell me your Tim's story and share your anti-litter grief.

I think his is a great idea. the capitalist litterbugs should be held accountable. They should only sell coffee in reusable cups. They should also ban drivethru's.
On the other hand, we should also be responsible for our own actions as a society.
Also, after all these years, why are people not getting it?

Hey, last night on Live at 5:30 (chch tv) they talked about this very topic. BAsically saying that Tims should encourage people to use refillable cups by say knocking 20cents off the price. Might be a start
It's weird, every time I come to this blog I feel like I need a coffee
strange

More more more about Tim-trash and pictures too. How about we all start posting pics of Tim-trash littering what is left of our environment?

As I drove along a quiet country road on my way to work, I was enjoying the early morning light when suddenly I noticed a small creature or object ahead. It's movement across the road was erratic and strange. Because I was alone and driving slowly, I veered slightly, to avoid a direct encounter with this odd little being. As I drove past I recognized some markings and heaved a sigh of relief. I had managed to avoid crushing a feral Tim Hortons cup on it's way to another ditch.

Freethinker, Tim Horton's is a Coffee Franchise in Canada as well as in northern NY state.

The problem, BTW, is not with this franchise - though I am certainly not defending it or it's practices - but the problem lies with the people! Why blame the business for producing the garbage, when the same garbage only needs to be recycled? The business wouldn't produce garbage if we wouldn't buy it! Just stop throwing stuff out the car window! This includes cigarette butts!!! (but that is another topic) Use the proper receptacles, and of course, use those handy dandy ceramic mugs! Why do we need incentive like 25 cents off? Isn't it enough to say "hey, I'm saving the planet one cup at a time"?

I agree with Zinfandel's Philosophy.
Unfortunately, the world turns on incentives. If it would work, I would support it. My contribution is that I stopped using their dam drivethru. Want to talk about a polluter...there you go right there.

I miss Nellie

ever notice when you decide to go into a tim horton's (which i frequently do now because I am banning drivethrus, much to the chagrin of wife and family) that they have no recycle bins? are we supposed to trash the pop cans that they sell? Hmmmm?

Should they not, as responsible billionaires, provide a recycle bin in their stores for those of us inclined to deposit said cans inside of said receptacle?

just wondering
